Drama

Too tired and wired to write a post right now; a short time ago, some drunk kid smashed his car into the phone pole in my front yard (twenty-five feet from where I'm sitting as I write this) at about forty miles an hour and there was lots of ensuing drama.

Such strangeness.

In lieu of words, here are my pictures from the Badlands. There are about 40 of them, which is but a small sampling of the hundreds I took. They have shitty titles. Please leave me suggestions for better titles. I will take your suggestions.

It's a good thing that phone pole was there. A Buick going 40 miles an hour could really fuck up a house.

Great photos - again! I can't decide which is my favorite. First it was the MOON! and then I saw the jack rabbit.

One suggestion for a new caption. On the photo that says mountain goat, why not change it to mountain lion? :)

Holy Cow! You come back to civilization and you get a drunk smashed up in your yard? Yikes.

I spent quite awhile looking at your photos this afternoon. As usual, they are awesome. I liked the sepia tone ones. I also tried to get a close up of your pic. You are still covered up with the shades! ehehehe... still hiding, huh?

I am glad you had a great trip. I plan on checking out more of your pictures this week-end. They are wonderful!

Is the kid okay?? That's crazy! I guess, yes, thank goodness the pole was there, for the sake of your house.

Amazing pictures, makes me really want to see it all up close and personal.

J, you attract craziness. Stupid kids.

I especially loved the pics of the formations. I can really see why they named that place what they did, but you made it look beautiful. Wanna give me photography lessons when I get my new fancy camera for Christmas??

hey, J
No worries about the postcard. Some drunk bastard decided to try to park his car in my friend's living room at about 65mph... thank god for two glancing hits off a tree (slowed him down) and the big one in front of their picture window (stopped him without killing him).
Your pictures are schweet. I don't have time to really take a look now, but next week I'll be back home and will then.
cheers, mate. Jolly good show.

awesome pictures. i put the badlands on my list of places to see now. the sky was stunningly blue, and the contrasts between the lifeless rock and rugged little creatures was incredible. thanks for posting.

All of your photos are amazing. Truly. I've looked through squillions of flickr accounts and have seen some really lovely shots here and there. But yours is the only account where every single frame is just jaw-dropping amazing. (And yes, I'm sure you pulled the best ones from your hundreds taken, but still!) You have a great eye. LOL, I mean that both ways. ;)
